CAYA Therapy and Wellness Solutions FAQs
At CAYA, we highly encourage everyone to ask questions about how CAYA can help with their unique journey. Here are frequently asked questions that you may find helpful.
My child/teen needs therapy, but we want to be included in their treatment. How can you help us with this?
We LOVE this question! We encourage parents to be active participants in their child’s/teen’s treatment. When one person starts to make necessary changes for improvement, the environment must be equipped to support those changes. You and their therapist will communicate to ensure everyone is on the same page and discuss necessary tools to implement for your child/teen.
How long will therapy take?
This depends on each person we see. We do recommend coming to therapy for eight weeks consecutively and consistently. The discussion of frequency is always on the table, and we try to meet each client’s needs accordingly, appropriately, and ethically.
How can therapy help me?
This question is sometimes an internal thought for clients, and it is a valid one. People come to therapy for a wide range of reasons: for clarity, guidance, support, or validation to help facilitate the change needed. Treatment can expose some vulnerable parts of a person, which can be frightening. Therapy can equip clients to hone in on essential tools to manage their emotions and relationships.
How do the nutrition and physical activity part of CAYA work?
At CAYA, we encourage clients to think about all the interconnected parts of their health. Although, nutrition, physical activity, or therapy provide many benefits by themselves, when combined, synergistically, we see added additional health benefits! For example a group exercise class may be a great way to reduce stress and process recent life events. Developing new skills through cooking classes may help people struggling with negative self image. Whatever your struggle, we want to provide the tools you need to get the most out of your health!
What is the process if I want to discontinue sessions?
If you no longer want to continue with CAYA, let us know. There is no charge, and we will always welcome you back when you are ready!
How can I tell if my therapist, physical trainer, or dietician and I are a good match?
One of the most critical aspects of building rapport is knowing that you feel heard by whomever you are working with. Having the opportunity to collaborate with us is a vital part of your journey to maintaining and sustaining realistic health choices.
What credentials should I be looking for?
